Intoxication and withdrawal signs

Know the classic presentations cold, because the exam loves them. Opioids: pinpoint pupils, drowsiness, slowed breathing. Stimulants: dilated pupils, agitation, elevated vitals. And the one that matters most for safety — alcohol and benzodiazepine withdrawal can be life-threatening, while opioid withdrawal is miserable but rarely fatal. The stages of change
